A War Bond purchase by residents of Frostproof, Polk County, Florida who collected a total of $375,000 during the Bond Drive.
Frostproof, a small community south of Orlando, had the unenviable distinction of having been bombed twice by the USAAF who mistook the town for the nearby bombing range. Fortunately, no one who hurt and their Bond collection indicates that there were no hard feelings!
