A news article in the Toledo Blade, 29 February 1944, announced the naming of an unknown aircraft which carried the title "North Central Ohio Dental Society". The type was not identified but resulted from the $600,000 collected through the purchase of War Bonds by the Society. Also included in the brief article was the promise to follow the exploits of the aircraft's wartime career. The amount of funding involved would have been sufficient to purchase a B29 Superfortress.
Unfortunately, no further news of the aircraft has yet been found and if anyone can throw further light on this one please get in touch.
