A P51 Mustang Pursuit bomber was funded by the purchase of Series "E" War Bonds by members of the Massachusetts branch of the Catholic Daughters of America. The aircraft was the first to be acquired as a result of the $100,000 sales of Bonds by the organisation in December 1943. A second campaign was begun in May of the following year to purchase another similar fighter bomber.
