This B17F was supposedly purchased with the bonds bought during the 2nd War Loan Drive by citizens of Kings Mountain in April 1943. In fact, it was almost certainly another retouched photo provided by the War Dept. The same photograph appears to have been used on a number of similar Fortresses funded at that time.
