Winged Victory

Winged Victory

Signed and presumably christened by Jeanne Crain, one of the stars of the 1944 movie "Winged Victory" released by 20th Century Fox and made with the cooperation of the USAAF. Several of Miss Crain's co-stars were USAAF members. With a storyline around budding pilot trainees this proved to be a popular movie, produced by Darryl Zanuck and directed by George Cukor, based on the stage play by Moss Hart.

Several other B24s and B17s were also named "Winged Victory" as part of the promotional effort for the film.
