Purchased by War Bonds bought by citizens of Lewisboro, New York, this P47 Thunderbolt was assigned to 78th Fighter Group initially then transferred to 353th Fighter Group at Raydon, England. It was renamed as "Lonesome Polecat" and ran out of fuel on 21st May 44 and consequently crashlanded. Repaired it suffered another accident on 30th June 44 and was declared "War Weary".

However, it seems to have been repaired and sent to the 4th Fighter Group at RAF Debden, renamed again as "Man Made Monster".
