500th Bomb Group, 882nd Bomb Squadron



 

"Slick Dick" was credited with at least 54 combat missions at the war's end and had been hit by flak on two known occasions. When hostilities ceased the veteran B29 went on to fly at least another three mercy missions to drop supplies to POW camps.
