67th Seabees

Shot down by anti-aircraft fire over Kobe, Japan on 5th June 1945. Six crew bailed out and were captured but two were later executed and the other four died in captivity. Missing air crew report # 14603.

67th NCB (Naval Construction Battalion) was originally assigned to 2nd CB Brigade but was assigned to 30th CB Regiment in June 1944 and despatched to Tinian. In August 1945 it was described as being "on detached service" with 6th CB Brigade.
