Fightin Irish - June Haver

One of glamourous movie star June Haver's popular films was the musical "Irish Eyes are Smiling" released in 1944. It made her a perfect choice for the nose art painted by Bill Tamburrino who captured a tremendous likeness using only the most basic of implements -- including a cut down shaving brush.

Arriving with the 301BG in early December 1944, "Fightin' Irish" fought on to the end and returned to the US to be scrapped at Kingman's Reclamation Plant in December 1945.
