Assigned to 95th Troop Carrier Squadron (coded as 9X) this C47 Skytrooper flew paratroopers from the 506th Parachute Infantry to drop over Carentan, Normandy on 6th June 1944, D-Day.
In action again on 17th September 1944, as part of the Market Garden operation, "Dabo" dropped paratroopers from 3rd battalion 508th Parachute Infantry regiment. On the following day it hauled a glider to the drop zone.
During the Battle of the Bulge, "Dabo" was shot down on 27th December 1944 flying a glider resupply mission, crashing 100 yards southwest of the Bastogne-March highway.
