A Flying Fortress B17F purchased by War Bond sales in October 1943 and announced through the Tuscaloosa News newspaper. Citizens of Tuscaloosa County in Alabama raised enough funds to "purchase" three B17 heavy bombers. The total raised was $1,300,800 which was 50% over-subscribed on their original target.

If you can provide any further information on any of these three Forts please get in touch.
