Named by comedian Jack Benny who starred in a Paramount movie musical of the same name in 1940. Little has been established about the combat history of this Liberator. It was christened on a USO tour with Carole Landis in August 1944. The artist who painted the elaborate nose art on the right side is not confirmed but the wheel hub, just below, sported the name R J Boff.
This was the second Liberator to be named by Jack Benny. Earlier, Benny christened a 389th Bomb Group B24D on a previous USO tour to Cairo, Egypt.
