Also known as "City of Maywood", this B29 won the accolade of having flown the longest combat sortie of any Superfortress.
On 26th June 1945, the crew of Thomas Bell flew a recon mission from Guam to Hokkaido, a distance of 4650 miles, on 23 hour flight which included 3 hours over the target.
